It is my pledge and promise to the people of Fannin County to hold our office to a higher standard. To me, the most important factor in the pursuit of this goal is to make sure that I hold myself to a standard equal to or higher than what I expect from my personnel. I have worked hard to achieve this goal by always being there for my people and practicing a strong work ethic in order to get the job done. I have expressed verbally and through training and education the benefits of holding ourselves to high standards. I have demanded honesty and integrity and have always rewarded my people for acting in such a manner. I have taken great pride in watching our people grow and see for themselves the sense of pride that comes from these accomplishments. I encourage daily the maintenance of a positive attitude and a winning spirit in order to help my people survive both mentally and physically.
Our personnel selection process has been refined through trial and error as well as through administrative training to allow us to select the best people available to assist us in carrying out our mission and goals. We are not just looking for warm bodies. We want quality people.
I realized very early in my first term that if I was going to create the truly professional law enforcement agency that the people of Fannin County deserve that I must make sure that I communicate accurately to each employee exactly what is expected of them. Trust must be our foundation. Truthfulness must always be practiced because the people that we serve expect no less from us and we should expect no less from ourselves. Our ethical standards must be set high. We must be confident in our ability to fairly enforce the law and be accountable for our actions.
Capable and experienced supervisors have been put in place to make sure that our personnel stay within the standards that we expect of ourselves.
Although I place a lot of confidence in the feeling of accomplishment that I have about our success in raising the standards of our office, the people of Fannin County are the true judge. I hope that everyone has been able to see a difference and that you have benefited from our hard work in this area.
